Wake up. Open your eyes. Rub the sleep crumpets from your tired oracles and really take a look at what’s happening around you. It’s early – you have to go to work. Luckily, your alarm woke you up today because you managed to set it last night even though you passed out.
The weather, the happenings of the world mean nothing to you right now. You’ve got to take a piss, wash your face and get your body to agree that it’s time to wake up.
Thing is… this is way fuckin easier today. Something’s different. Something’s changed. You woke up and opened your eyes slowly and it felt like the sun used a fish hook lined with lotion covered cotton swabs to lightly lift your lids. Your head felt like breasts were heaving it up between their milky softness. You don’t look at the time, you just turn up the volume. You’re listening to something that makes this day feel like it just could be the best day of your life. It’s Monday, but it’s Friday. You’re single, but you’re a player. You’re poor, but you’ve got enough money to buy the next round. Things are damn good and Walk off the Earth is damn proud to be a part of that feeling.

It’s that time again. Jamming. You love it, I love it - we all love it.
Open jamming means that our host with the most, Dave Balfour, will play all night and will invite people up on stage to join in. It’s a great time for both audience and musicians!
Musicians: Bring your instrument of choice (including drums - small stage sized set please) and approach Dave to quickly let him know that you’re there and you would like to join in on the jam. He’ll do his best to rotate you in if at all possible. This is a great event and is catered to most levels of playing. Jamming is fun and helps build your skills. It’s great when it all gels together and it’s entertaining when it doesn’t (doesn’t happen to often!).
Audience: It’s a Wednesday night in the middle of October. It’s the middle of the week. You’re looking for something to do -maybe meet some friends or take in some entertainment. O’Reilly’s Pub in Perth has your answer. The Open Jamming experience with Dave Balfour is a night of amazing music and it’s all FREE. No cover. The music ranges from classic rock to folk to MILD country to blues to hits of today and beyond. It’s a night of fun and friends, music and mayhem.
The show starts at 8pm so both musicians and audience should arrive early for easier setup and best seating. There is a great food menu and drinks so don’t hesitate to come for supper or snacks and drinks prior to the show!
Thanks and see you there!

Formed in 1992, FATHEAD has developed a distinctive & unique sound characterized by solid grooves, soul-drenched melodies and ace musicianship- allowing the band to pack multiple music genres into a Blues tour de force. Three of the five band members have remained constant over the years; John Mays (lead vocals), band leader Al Lerman (harp & tenor saxophone, vocals) and Omar Tunnoch (bass, vocals). In 2006 Darran Poole replaced original guitarist Teddy Leonard, while current drummer Bucky Berger joined the group in 2007, succeeding Hayden Vialva (2003-2007), Chuck Keeping (2001-2003), Ed White (1993-2001) and Mike Fitzpatrick (1992).
Fathead’s incendiary live shows have taken them far and wide, performing across the continent at high profile events such as Fredericton’s Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival, The Salmon Arm Roots & Blues Festival, The Montreal International Jazz Fest, The Toronto Soul & Blues Fest, Festival By The Sea in New Brunswick, and Playing With Fire in Omaha, Nebraska. They have performed in Washington, DC for the Canadian Embassy, at Buffalo’s Lafayette Tap Room Blues Festival, at Virginia’s famed Birchmere Theater, and have opened for blues icon B.B. King at Massey Hall in Toronto. The band also backed the late Chicago bluesman Little Mack Simmons on two fine albums that were critically acclaimed internationally.
